Dave Madgett is an accomplished litigator who honed his skills while serving in the United States Air Force. After graduating with a math degree from Colgate University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia, Dave started his legal career by working as a Judge Advocate eventually earning the title of Chief of Military Justice. As head of the justice division and previously as a prosecutor in the Special Victims Unit, Dave investigated and prosecuted matters involving sexual assault, drug trafficking, organized crime, and fraud against the United States government. Dave is a decorated military officer earning the Air Force Commendation Medal in 2013.
Today Dave applies his legal training and experience serving the clients of Madgett Law. Although he has worked in conjunction with a variety of institutional clients in his positions at Dorsey & Whitney, Merrill Lynch, and State Street, he is most proud to represent individual consumers who have been treated unfairly by banks and businesses. Dave actively contributes to a variety of pro bono legal institutions serving low to moderate income individuals. In 2017 Dave helped local tenants win one of the largest judgments against a landlord in Minnesota history.
Dave lives in his hometown of Wayzata, Minnesota, with his wife and twin boys. Dave looks forward to introducing his boys to all of his favorite hobbies, including sailing, skiing, and golf. Dave is an active member in the Minneapolis Club.
